NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - The Pride Festival kicks off this weekend in Cincinnati and security measures are being taken, not only at the festival itself, but at local bars around town.
The owner of "The Crazy Fox Saloon" has safety on his mind for his customers and employees.
"We've been very concerned about security," owner Carl Fox said. "We have, of course, spoken to our employees since the (Orlando) event happened. We always have security features in place."
Martin Wilkinson said he will be attending the Pride Festival for the first time in a number of years.
"There is still fear about what happened in Orlando," Wilkinson said. "We can't just let fear win. We can't let hate win. We have to stand together. We have to stand tall and let them know that we are not to let this stop us."
Fox said security is more on his mind and priority number one, not for just this weekend, but for years to come.
"You never want to see your customers injured or hurt," FOX said. "You try to keep a safe place. You think about security always."
