RIPLEY COUNTY, IN (FOX19) - Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in a fiery fatal crash in Ripley County Saturday night, Indiana State Police said.
An initial investigation shows that Bret L. Brown, 36, of Osgood, IN. was traveling westbound on SR 229, just east of Napoleon, when he lost control of his vehicle around a curve.
The vehicle left the road and striking numerous trees and catching the vehicle on fire, according to ISP.
The Ripley County Coroner's Office pronounced Brown dead at the scene.
ISP said Brown was not wearing a proper seatbelt restraint and speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
