WARREN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - A Lebanon Correctional Institution inmate has been charged with aggravated murder in connection to the beating death of his 26-year-old cellmate.
Casey Pigge, 28, of Chillicothe, also was indicted for possession of a deadly weapon while under detention in the Feb. 23 death of Luther Wade.
Pigge is accused of carving mortar out of his cell and striking Wade "multiple times in the head" with a concrete block, according to Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell.
Pigge is currently serving a sentence of 30 years to life for aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated arson and tampering with evidence from a 2009 conviction in Ross County.
Since the February incident, he has been transferred to the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville.
Pigge will be arraigned on July 6. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
