WINTON HILLS, OH (FOX19) - Family and friends are looking for answers after James Lamar Tamplin was fatally shot in Winton Hills Tuesday morning.
Tamplin, 27, was found walking around the 5600 block of Winneste Avenue around 3:50 a.m.
Authorities say a trail of blood spanned several blocks in the area and police are trying to determine where exactly the crime actually took place.
He was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
Tamplin's sister, Tiffany Burnett, is pleading for anyone with information about her son's death to come forward.
"He didn't bother anybody," Burnett said. "He didn't deserve it. He wasn't hanging in the streets, selling drugs, none of that."
Tamplin's family told FOX19 NOW that he was called into work at Procter & Gamble early Tuesday morning and decided to make the 20 minute walk instead of drive.
The 27-year-old was expecting his child. His girlfriend, Lottiah Smith, is five months pregnant. She is finding it near impossible to come to terms with what happened.
"It's so hard for me to go home and not see him there and by this being his first baby," Smith said. "It's just hard right now."
Police will continue to investigate the homicide.
No arrests have been made.
