CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Love the Big Apple? You'll soon be able to fly from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to New York City for as low as $39 for a one-way ticket.
Allegiant Air announced on Tuesday it will add four non-stop flights each week between CVG and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), starting Nov. 16, 2016.
Allegiant is the first low-cost carrier to offer flights from CVG to directly to New York City.
"Allegiant's growth has been tremendous and we're proud they've chosen CVG as a launch market for their first New York City area service," Candace McGraw, CVG's chief executive officer said in a written statement.
The new route will become Allegiant's 14th destination available from Cincinnati, including Austin, Las Vegas, Phoenix, New Orleans, Savannah/Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach, Washington D.C. and six cities in Florida.
To promote the new route, Allegiant is launching a "Christmas in July" sweepstakes on its Facebook page to give away seats on the route's first flight. Twelve winners will receive 2 seats each from Cincinnati to New York City. The sweepstakes ends July 9.
