Officials of the Ark Encounter say they wanted to make their depiction of the ark as true as possible.
But not everyone is welcoming Kentucky's newest tourist attraction.
The group called Tri State's Atheists and Free Thinkers are planning a 10 a.m. protest Thursday just outside the Ark Encounter park.
They claim the ark is sending the wrong message and plan to start gathering across the street at 9 a.m.
The group says they are making a stand for science, equal rights and the separation of church and state.
However, Ark Encounter officials say this attraction will stand as proof to visitors that the stories in the Bible are true saying they expect people from all over the world will come to see it.
In fact, officials say, the attraction will draw 2 million visitors in its first year , putting it on par with some of the big-ticket attractions in nearby Cincinnati.
