WEST END, OH (FOX19) - A 25-year-old man is scheduled to appear before a judge Friday morning on charges related to a March homicide.
Durrell Fuller was booked into the Hamilton County jail just before 1:30 a.m. on charges of murder, aggravated robbery and weapons under disability in the shooting death of Charles Weathers, 46.
Weathers was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting inside a residence in the 700 block of Derrick Turnbow Avenue just before 2:30 a.m. March 5, according to police.
On Thursday, homicide investigators said they signed warrants charging Fuller with the offense. He was apprehended later in the day with the assistance of a fugitive apprehension unit.
Court records state that Fuller was involved in drug sales with the victim and Fuller planned the robbery with others. Fuller was previously convicted of trafficking in drugs in Butler County.
During the robbery attempt, the victim fought his assailants, police wrote in a criminal complaint.
One of Fullers' co-conspirators brandished a weapon and fired several shots, one of which hit Weathers in the head, police wrote in criminal complaints.
Homicide investigators said they charged Fuller, who also was armed with a gun, after interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence at the crime scene and reviewing cell phone records belonging to witnesses, the victim and Fuller.
