CLEARCREEK TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The "large bucking bull" that had been on the run for more than three weeks in Clearcreek Township was shot and killed Thursday night, police chief John Terrill confirmed.
The rodeo bull escaped from Fox Hollow Ranch located in the 1900 block of E. State Route 73 on June 22.
After almost a week of no sightings, the bull resurfaced again over the Fourth of July weekend.
Officials said the animal had moved southwest and was seen in the area of lower Springboro and Bunnell Hill Roads. In three of the sightings over the weekend, the bull was observed near or in area roads.
The bull apparently became a traffic hazard after running into traffic several times and posing as a risk to drivers, Terrill said.
When officers located the bull, they attempted to tranquilize it but the bull was too far away. They shot and killed the animal because the bull posed a hazard to traffic, Chief Terrill explained.
