KENTUCKY (FOX19) - A central Kentucky man appears in court Monday in connection with the disappearance of northern Kentucky couple last week.

Craig Pennington, 52, of Springfield, is charged with two counts of murder.

No remains have been recovered, but Kentucky State Police said evidence indicates Robert K. Jones, 38, and Crystal J. Warner, 35, are deceased.

Family members said the Florence couple rented a home in Springfield to Pennington and that they stopped by the residence on July 3. They have not been seen since.

Jones' ex-wife claims the tenant shot the couple in the head and that an eye witness reported the crime to police. Authorities have not commented on the nature of the victims' death.
