A 15-year-old is in critical condition after a serious rollover crash in Whitewater Township Monday, according to Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil.
Officials said a 16-year-old girl was driving a 2003 Saturn Ion southbound in the 6000 block of Morgan Road with a 15-year-old boy in the front passenger seat and a 12-year-old boy in the back seat.
As the vehicle crested the hill, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to travel to the left of the center lines, investigators said. The driver then steered to the right causing her vehicle to exit the right side of the roadway then rolled onto its roof while rotating simultaneously and struck a tree.
Sheriff Neil said the driver was able to exit the vehicle with the assistance of other motorists who had stopped to help.
The male passengers had to be extracted by the Whitewater and Miami Township Fire Departments.
The 15-year-old was flown to the University Medical Center, where he is in critical condition, officials said. The 12-year-old was transported to Children's Hospital and is listed in serious condition.
The driver is listed in good condition.
All occupants were wearing their safety belts and alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash, according to officials.
