Traffic remains heavily backed up in the area. Motorists should expect lengthy delays.
The driver reported the back right side of his semi was on fire just before 7 a.m.
He told dispatchers he was hauling corrosive, but not explosive, material.
No chemical leak was detected, according to dispatchers.
The fire was reported knocked down by 7 a.m.
A hazmat-like crew from Boone County Emergency Management responded, dispatchers said.
