MADISONVILLE, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati police said Monday morning they are still investigating what led up to the shooting death of a 5-year-old boy Saturday.
Sincere Peek was shot in the head inside a home in the 6200 block of Chandler Street shortly after noon, according to police.
It hasn't been determined yet if the wound was self-inflicted or if someone else shot him, officials with the Hamilton County Coroner's Office said Monday.
The boy's mother and older brother, 12, were home at the time, police have said.
Peeks' sister told FOX19 NOW her brother was watching cartoons in an upstairs bedroom when their mother heard shots.
She said their mother rushed upstairs and carried Peek to a neighbor's house and began CPR.
Initial reports indicated the shooting was self-inflicted, according to District 2 police.
