UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH (FOX19) -

A pair of events near the campus of the University of Cincinnati will remember Sam DuBose on the first anniversary of his death Tuesday.

WATCH: FOX19 NOW's Sara Celi is live with a preview.

A vigil at the school alumni center, hosted by friends and family, will take place at 11 a.m.

Tonight, a rally is scheduled for 6 p.m. at a park on edge of campus.

UC Police Officer Ray Tensing shot and killed Dubose during a traffic stop caught on Tensing's body camera.

Tensing was indicted on charges of murder and voluntary manslaughter and awaits trial in October. UC officials also fired him.

He has pleaded not guilty, and a police union is appealing his firing.

Tensing claims he shot and killed DuBose because he feared for his life.

If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
