A 33-year-old man is fighting for his life after he was shot at least once late Tuesday, Cincinnati police said.
Officers responded to a report of five gunshots fired in the 1600 block of Rose Place about 9:45 p.m., said Lt. Chris Ruehmer, the night chief.
The victim was found with a large gunshot wound in his thigh from a .45-caliber handgun.
"When someone is hit by a round of that caliber, it tends to do quite a bit of damage," the lieutenant said.
The man was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
He refused to assist police as they investigate the attack, according to Ruehmer.
No arrests were made.
"He was very uncooperative, which is a trend these days," Ruehmer said. "That is troubling when someone is a victim of a crime like this and they don't seem interested in helping police catch the perpetrator, which leads one to wonder what was going on."
