FOX19 -

A California woman ready to move into her new home discovered something shocking.

The buyer found the body of 84-year-old Salvatore Orefice on a bed in the house.

The homeowner paid $430,000 for the Simi Valley house last month.

Police told the LA Times that 75-year-old Mary Karacas was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Karacas later told police that she had a relationship with Orefice, according to local media outlets.

It’s unclear how long the body was inside the home.
