Sheriff: Toddler found unresponsive in bathtub, appears to be accident

A 2-year-old boy was flown to a hospital after he was pulled from a bathtub unresponsive in Middletown Thursday night, according to the Butler County Sheriff''s Office.

Family members said the child turns three next month. 

Deputies and Middletown EMS responded to Catalina Mobile Home Park in the 6500 block of Germantowns Road just after 8 p.m., sheriff's officials said. They received a report of a 2-year-old unresponsive in a bathtub filled with water.

The toddler was found by his parents, who called 911, sheriff's officials said.

AirCare responded and flew the boy to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, where he was reported to be in ICU early Friday.

Investigators at the scene told FOX19 NOW that, initially, the icident appears to be an accident.

An investigation remains ongoing.

Sheriff's officials said more information will be released Friday morning.
