A police chase along two highways ended with the driver in custody early Friday, according to Boone County dispatchers.
The driver of a red minivan fled county sheriff's deputies on Interstate 275 south of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport about 5 a.m., they said.
It wasn't immediately clear what led up to the chase, they said.
A male driver led deputies on a chase along I-275 east to southbound I-75, where he kept going several miles into Grant County, they said.
Authorities threw down stop-sticks in an attempt to halt the vehicle, but the minivan kept going, dispatchers said.
By the time the chase proceeded into Grant County, the driver was traveling 40 mph and even lower at times.
He phoned dispatchers along the way and reported he was "just panicked and made a mistake," they said.
He also told them he broke up with his girlfriend and did not have a weapon.
The driver stopped about 10 miles south of Williamstown about 5:45 a.m.
He was taken into custody without further incident, dispatchers said.
