FORT WRIGHT, KY (FOX19) -

A Tri-State pug is being credited with saving a woman's life.

Earl the pug was honored at the Fort Wright PetCo Friday for what he did on July 7.

Kristina Brate says she was asleep on the couch when she awoke to Earl urgently licking her face. That's when she noticed that her house was on fire.

The two go out of the home, but the house was a total loss.

Brate says without Earl, she's not sure what would have happened.
