LOCKLAND, OH (FOX19) -

As temperatures rise above 90 degrees Monday, a local animal shelter is seeking fan donations to keep dogs cool.

Sweet Dream House Rescue takes in dogs from high-kill animal shelters in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia. The all-volunteer organization cares for the dogs and attempts to find them foster homes.

The shelter needs box and industrial size fans for their 5,000 square foot area where about 30 dogs are currently housed. The facility has no air conditioning.

A rescue representative said small and sick dogs have been put in foster care homes during the hot weather.

Anyone interested in donating a fan can call Sweet Dream House Rescue at (513) 375-9517 or email dreamhouserescue@yahoo.com to arrange a pick-up. Smaller fans can be dropped off at the shelter’s adoption events each Saturday and Sunday at the Newport Petsmart.
