Straight Street to be named after Queen City Sausage founder

CINCINNATI (FOX19) -

A street will be named after the founder of an iconic Cincinnati establishment.

Elmer Hensler founded Queen City Sausage in 1965 at the present day location on the corner of Straight Street and Spring Grove in Cincinnati’s Camp Washington.  51 years later the company and Elmer are still going strong.

Mayor John Cranley will honor Elmer by renaming Straight Street to “Elmer Hensler Way” on Aug. 4 at 10:15 a.m.

Elmer was born in Cincinnati's West End, in the middle of nine children. By age 12, he was working and exploring the business of meat, the company’s website states.
