Oxygen Masks For 4-Legged Fire Victims

Three Tri-State fire departments are now better equipped to help four legged fire victims.

A group called Best Friends Petcare donated animal sized oxygen masks to the Sycamore Township, Blue Ash, and Loveland-Symmes Fire Departments.

There are three sizes of masks: for small canines, large canines, and felines. The masks are made to better conform to animals' little faces and snouts.

Bill Mehbod with the Blue Ash Fire Department says, "It's a nice resource for us to have. Even though it may not be something we'd use very often, if we were able to help someone's pet it sure would mean a lot to them."

There is an effort in 11 states including Ohio to get enough donations to buy the pet masks for all fire departments. You can donate or find more information by calling 1-888-FOR-PETS or go to www.bestfriendspetcare.com and click on "Rescue Mask Fund Drive" on the left side of the page.
