CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

I got my first experience of Broadway in Chicago on Saturday.

It's definitely not as good as Broadway in Cincinnati, but it was pretty close.

I took my 15-year-old daughter to see "Newsies."

She saw it here at the Aronoff Center with my wife a few months back and fell in love with it. (My wife sat this one out and did some shopping instead).

I was a little more skeptical, considering my only experience was with the Christian Bale movie - and let's just say I'm less than impressed by that.

We saw the show at the Cadillac Palace theater. Not quite as nice as the Aronoff Center, but nicer than the Taft; a good atmosphere.

Let me tell you, I loved it.

If you want to keep me interested, I need action.

"Newsies" has it right out of the gate with some of the best musical numbers and choreography I've seen.

The singing was great; 10 times better than the movie and let's be honest, Batman Bale can't really sing all that well.

Joey Barreiro, who plays the main character Jack Kelly, really can. His rendition of "Santa Fe" was spot on.

Songs like "Carrying the Banner" and "Seize the Day" also had me humming the rest of the night.

I sprung for front row seats this time around. Seeing inside the orchestra pit was great. Being able to see the actors facial expressions was even better.

Seeing my daughter's face during the music numbers was the best.

Once the show was over, my daughter had tears in her eyes she was so happy.

That would have made the trip worth it, but the fact that the show was really good was icing on the cake.

This is supposed to be the last tour for "Newsies," but I'll believe it when I see it.

If and when the show comes back to Cincinnati, I know two people who will definitely be there.
