Metallica drops new album this fall; it's about time

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - My favorite news of the morning might be the fact that Metallica has announced it's d ropping a new album this fall.

It's about dang time!

"Hardwired…for Self-Destruction" will be the band's first studio album in eight years.

The last one was "Death Magnetic" in 2008 and it was awesome, in my humble opinion.

I may be a little biased because Metallica is my favorite band.

I jumped on board back in the early 90's, like a lot of other people, when the black album came out.

But then I started listening to all the early stuff from "Kill'em All", "Ride the Lightning" and "Master of Puppets."

Not nearly as polished, but so many classic songs.

Metallica was also the first concert I saw; back in 1991 (I think) at Riverbend.

I've seen them three other times and every show was better than the previous.

I'm excited to hear the new album. I've heard the first single and I have to admit, the first time I wasn't so sure.

It's starts off a little raw, almost like some of the stuff from "St. Anger", which is widely considered their weakest effort.

But then I listened to it again and it got better.

Then I played it a third time and it was better still.

Based on the first song, I have high hopes for "Hardwired," but you never know, I guess.

One thing I do know is that it will debut at number one and sell millions.

You can count me as one of the millions who get it when it comes out in November.
