Rieger Wins Flying Pig, Bedingfield Takes Women's Title

(Cincinnati, May 1, 2005) -- Tim Rieger, of Dayton, Ohio, finished his second Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon in front of record 13,279 participants Sunday.

Rieger, 28 years old, finished in a time of 2:30:24.  This is only the second marathon for former University of Cincinnati runner.  He competed in the Flying Pig in 2002 where he finished fourth.

Rieger battled second place finisher Isaac Barnes until the last the last mile where he pulled away on a small hill.

Alison Bedingfield, 22, of Groesbeck, won her first marathon with a time of 3:03:40 in the women's division.  It was also Bedingfield's first marathon.

Second in the women's division was Lisa Veneziano with a time of 3:07:29.  Veneziano won the women's division in 2003.
