A man was charged after driving recklessly because of an overdose on I-75 Monday night.
Dispatch received several calls in reference to a vehicle traveling northbound on I-75 near mile post 18 in West Chester Township. Dispatched was advised that a vehicle was swerving through all lanes of travel, and came to a stop in the center median, and that a man appeared to be slumped over the wheel.
A trooper observed that vehicle, a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, was occupied by two males. The driver, Kenneth Partin Sr., age 56, of Cincinnati, and a passenger, Kenneth Partin Jr., age 31, of Cincinnati.
The vehicle doors were locked, and both occupants were unresponsive.
The Trooper broke the rear driver’s door window to gain access to the vehicle and the occupants were removed.
West Chester EMS and Fire Department along with other with other law enforcement agencies then arrived on scene.
It was quickly determined that both occupants were suffering from a heroin overdose. Narcan was administered to both Partin Sr., and Partin Jr. at the scene. Both were then transported to West Chester Hospital.
Partin Sr. was later charged with OVI and possession of drug paraphernalia.
