Interstate Connector

Proposal would add access between two interstates

A regional government task force has proposed building a six-lane connector between Interstates 71 and 75 in Butler County.

A task force with the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments says increased population density and traffic in the area inspired the proposal.

The task force is studying an area bordered by I-75 and I-71 on the west and east and by state Route 63 to the north. OK-I officials say they would like to build a five- or six-lane connector between the two interstates. The connector would likely come from widening an existing road.

Local officials say some expansions are already planned to roads in the area, but nothing as expansive as the task force proposes.
