UNION TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) – -

A threat that came in on a school tip line briefly locked down Glen Este High School and Middle schools Wednesday morning.

Five West Clermont grade schools that were able to be reached prior to school starting were placed on an hour delay.

They are: Holly Hill, Merwin, Summerside, Willowville, and Withamsville-Tobasco, said Scott Spicher, spokesman for West Clermont School District.

The lockdowns and delays came after Union Township police said they were made aware about 7:15 a..m of a threat that was called in to the district.

A police dispatcher said the district got a message on its tip line about a student threatening to bring a gun to school.

Spicher said the threat was very "non-specific" and didn't target a specific school.

"At no time was anyone in danger," he said.

Police are patrolling and securing all buildings, Spicher said.

"Everybody's safe, everybody's operating normal and everybody's in school," he said.

Union Township Police Chief Scott Gaviglia said more information will be released later Wednesday morning.

The district has about 8,500 students.
