CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Bengals Pro Bowl Tight End Tyler Eifert returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since he had surgery on his ankle following the 2016 Pro Bowl.
"I continue to feel good and I'm progressing forward," said Eifert. "Pretty soon I'll be back on the field. Today is another step in the right direction."
Eifert admitted to the media he's been running routes since last week when the cameras weren't rolling at practice. There is chance he could return Sunday, but he didn't make any guarantees.
"I don't really know what the plan is, but I'm going to go out there and run some routes," said Eifert.
The Bengals, 1-1 without Eifert in the first two games, will play host to the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in their home opener.
