The Bengals’ home opener this Sunday at 1 p.m. against the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos is sold out, the Bengals ticket office announced on Wednesday.
“We’re excited to be back home after opening the first two games on the road,” said Bengals Pro Bowl quarterback Andy Dalton. “We’re excited to be in front of our home crowd, get the fans into it and it should be a great game on Sunday.”
The Bengals are 8-2 in home openers under Marvin Lewis that were played following week one.
“The home opener is tremendous for a football team,” said Bengals Pro Bowl offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth. “It’s a great opportunity for us and what’s a better way to start a season than to have the team who won the last championship at your place and prove that you’re a championship caliber team. What a great way to kick one off at home with a great win."
The Bengals also announced next Thursday night’s game at home against the Miami Dolphins is nearing a sellout with only a couple thousand tickets remaining.
