Runaway Bride Report

New Mexico police release review of bride's interview

Documents released by police in New Mexico show runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks' fake story of abduction and sexual assault contained precise and graphic details of the alleged crime.

According to a Albuquerque police report, Wilbanks described a sexual assault by two captors, a "white female" and "a Hispanic male." But during questioning, an FBI agent told the anxious bride-to-be that her statement didn't seem credible and that investigators believed she had left Georgia on her own. Wilbanks then recanted.

The report says Wilbanks was feeling the pressures of a wedding and a "list of things she needed to get done" with "no time to do it." Police in New Mexico will not file charges. Georgia authorities are still reviewing her actions.
