Ohio To Gain More Jobs?

Pentagon proposes closing Mansfield base, realigning Cleveland center

The Air National Guard's 179th Airlift Wing in Mansfield would lose one-thousand-60 jobs, including 230 full-time positions.

A base-closing document given to members of Congress this morning also recommends realignment of a military finance center in Cleveland, a move that would result in the loss of one-thousand-28 jobs. It's not clear whether those jobs will be transferred to another Ohio location but the same document suggests that 17-hundred-58 jobs be added to the Defense Supply Center in Columbus, which includes a finance and accounting operation.

If all recommendations are accepted, Ohio would gain about 241 full-time jobs overall.
