CINCINNATI (FOX19) -

An Allegiant Air plane traveling from Cincinnati to Las Vegas was forced to turn around due to mid-flight mechanical issues Wednesday.

The plane captain decided to turn back to Cincinnati around 8:15 a.m., according to an Allegiant spokesperson. The plane landed safely with 140 passengers and six crew members on board.

Flight 1308 departed Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport to Las Vegas-McCarran International Airport Wednesday at 7:30 a.m.

The nature of the mechanical issues is unclear.

“We apologize to our passengers for the inconvenience and disruption to their plans. Passengers have been provided $150 vouchers for future travel on Allegiant as well as meal vouchers,” a spokesperson for the airline said.

Passengers were given the option to change to another Allegiant flight or receive a full refund, the company said.
