FOX19 - Orange barrels will continue to cause headaches in the Tri-State for the entire weekend.
There will be major lane and ramp closures on Interstate Interstate 75. Then adding to the misery, more lane closures on southbound I-71/75 in Northern Kentucky.
Work crews will start blocking lanes on south I-75 at 10 p.m. Friday night and will continue to be closed until Monday at 5 a.m.
Three lanes of south I-75 will be closed, only one lane open for through traffic, for the entire weekend.
The closures will begin on south I-75 with two lanes closures at the Norwood Lateral then three lanes closed continuing south of the Western Hills Viaduct.
The traffic on I-75 will be detoured east on the Norwood Lateral to south on I-71 into downtown. Expect more traffic on south I-71 from the Norwood Lateral.
If you are continuing south into Northern Kentucky towards the airport, you need to head south on I-471 then west on I-275, to avoid delays due to lane closures in Northern Kentucky.
Work crews will be shifting the lanes of south I-71/75 back to the normal traffic pattern.
The lane restrictions will begin at 10 p.m. Friday continuing until Monday at 5 a.m.
There will be major lane restrictions from Kyles Lane south to Donaldson Road. Local traffic will be smart to avoid the interstate if possible.
To avoid delays use the I-275 loop around into Northern Kentucky, especially if you are heading to the airport.
In addition to the lanes closed on south I-75, eastbound I-74 will be reduced to one lane at southbound I-75.
Crews will have the exit ramp to Hopple Street open, but the ramp from Hopple Street to southbound I-75 will be closed.
