Associate Athletic Director Resigns

UC associate athletic director has resigned. Bruce Ivory's offer of resignation comes following his arrest on a driving while under the influence charge. UC director of Athletics Bob Goin has accepted that resignation.

"I am saddened by the unfortunate turn of evens which has led to Bruce's resignation." Goin stated.

Green Hills police arrested assistant UC athletic director Bruce Ivory overnight after an officer spotted his car moving erraticly on Winton road.

Green Hills chief Thomas Doyle tells FOX19-- the officer smelled alcohol when he spoke to Ivory. Doyle says Ivory was polite and cooperative when asked to perform field sobriety tests. He refused a breathalyzer test when he was taken to the police department. Which means an automatic suspension of his driver's license.

Ivory is charged with DUI and was released. He has been a member of the UC athletic department for the past 21 years. He originally joined the staff in 1984 as assistant football coach. He left coaching in 1994 and became Assistant AD for Academic Services in 1995 after serving as interim director for a year. He was promoted to Associate AD in 2002.
