HEBRON, KY (FOX19) - Wednesday is expected to be the busiest Thanksgiving travel day in years at the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport.
CVG officials say an additional 18 percent worth of flights and passenger volumes have been added since Thanksgiving 2015.
"With increased flight options and more capacity, we expect passenger volumes to increase approximately 18 percent compared to 2015's Thanksgiving holiday travel period," said Candace McGraw, the airport's chief executive officer.
Large crowds and long lines are expected all day at CVG, Travelers should allow extra time to get to their gate.
Flyers are urged to arrive to the airport two hours before their flight.

In addition, its recommended travelers familiarize themselves with Transportation Security Administration guidelines and screening procedures at TSA.gov to speed up the process for all.
As far as food goes, turkeys are permitted to fly.
Per TSA guidelines, all food can fly in bags with the exception of food containing liquid. That must be stored in checked luggage.
