Police seeking suspect in NKY purse snatchings

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -

Police are looking to identify a suspect involved in two purse snatchings Tuesday morning near Dixie Highway in Florence. 

The first robbery occurred when an unknown male approached a victim in the parking lot of Emerson’s Bakery around 7 a.m. Police said he forcibly took her wallet that was around her arm and then fled in a vehicle.

The second robbery occurred forty four minutes later in a parking lot on nearby Fair Court.

Police said the victim was walking toward her vehicle in the lot when an unknown male approached her and asked her for a ride. The male then grabbed her purse, pulled it from her arm knocking her to the ground and then fled again in a vehicle.

Between the two robberies, police said they were dispatched to the Florence Christian Church after receiving a suspicious person complaint.  

An unknown male matching the description of the robbery suspect attempted to open a car door of a vehicle in the parking lot. When the owner of the car asked him what he was doing he fled on foot, police said.

The suspect has been described as a male black with light complexion, medium build, 30 to 40 years old, with facial hair and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt. 

The vehicle involved is a dark colored sedan, police said it could be a blue SUV Camry or Chevy Cruze. 

Investigators said they are working a purse snatching case that may be related which occurred on Nov. 16 in the 7600 block of US 25 around 10 a.m. In the case, the victim was getting into her vehicle when an unknown male approached her and grabbed her purse from around her arm causing her to fall to the ground. The unknown male fled in a vehicle.

Brandon MIchael Council was arrested in Greenville, North Carolina Wednesday, along with two other people, authorities there confirmed.  Brandon Michael Council was wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of two CresCom bank employees during a bank robbery at the CresCom Bank in Conway on Monday afternoon.
