Runaway Bride

District attorney will discuss runaway bride case today

A district attorney in Georgia is expected to announce today whether he'll file charges against the woman who vanished days before her wedding.

Jennifer Wilbanks' disappearance sparked a massive search in her hometown of Duluth, Georgia. She turned up days later in New Mexico claiming she had been kidnapped. However, she soon recanted and admitted she ran away.

The D.A. says Wilbanks could face a misdemeanor charge of filing a false report or a felony charge of making false statements.

However, the woman's attorney says she doesn't think Wilbanks committed a crime in Georgia. New Mexico authorities have already said they won't charge her.
