“Today is one of my favorite days of the year,” said Apollo Home employee Lauren Hagin.

On Friday, Apollo owner, Jamie Gerdsen, gave back to his employees and the community in a really fun way.

Employees met at the Remke Markets in Hyde Park Plaza at 7 a.m. Jamie was dressed as an elf and his father as Santa. 14 employees were picked at random to run through the store and get as many grocery items as possible in two minutes.

Gerdsen then matched the combined bills for his employees and gave that money to the Freestore Foodbank.

Nearly $4,000 was given.

Apollo Home does residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical work and employees about 80 people.
