Friend Struggles To Make Sense

Friend of accused shooter struggles to make sense of deadly rampage

The friend of the 18-year-old Bellefontaine man who authorities believe killed himself and five others says Scott Moody was a quiet person who rarely lost his temper.

Bret Davidson left a small high school graduation party at Moody's house about an hour before the shooting began. Davidson says Moody was acting normally and had not been drinking.

He says they watched TV and shot pool. Davidson spent the night at Moody's house but left at six am to do some work on his family's farm.

Authorities say Moody shot his grandparents, mother, sister and two friends before killing himself. All but his sister were killed.

Davidson says the Moody farm had struggled financially in recent years, but income appeared to be bouncing back and the family seemed optimistic.
