Christmas Arson

Connecticut couple charged in 2002 home fire

Police in Connecticut are charging a married couple with arson more than three years after their home burned just before Christmas.

The fire prompted an outpouring of community support to replace the gifts for Randal and Angela Licari's children.  However, police say it turns out those gifts as well as other items from the home had been stored safely away.

Police say after the fire the two collected more than 350-thousand dollars from their insurance company and built a larger home.  Police say the crime was uncovered during a Homeland Security investigation, but would not elaborate.

Both are now facing multiple arson and fraud charges.
