Pornographic Web sites may soon have a new address. The Internet's primary oversight body has approved a plan that will let sites use new addresses that end in XXX. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers says it will begin negotiations with ICM Registry to iron out the technical issues for the new web addresses. Adult-oriented sites in the twelve billion dollar industry could begin buying the new addresses as early as next fall or winter. ICM contends the triple-X Web addresses will protect children from online porn if adult sites voluntarily adopt the suffix.
