Two California men detained with possible terror ties
Federal authorities say a father and son arrested in California may have links to terrorism. An FBI agent says Hamid Hayat and his father, Umer Hayat were arrested over the weekend after the son allegedly acknowledged attending an al-Qaida camp in Pakistan to learn "how to kill Americans."
Prosecutors say Hamid Hayat had trained to use explosives and other weapons while using photographs of President Bush as targets. Both men have been charged with lying to federal agents.
Family members have told the Los Angeles Times that FBI agents raided the Hayat home yesterday. Agents have seized videocassettes, photographs, fax machines, prayer books and other items.
