Tropical Storm Arlene forms in Caribbean
The storm system edging closer toward Cuba now has an identity.
Tropical Storm Arlene has developed from a tropical depression that formed yesterday. It's sustaining winds of 40 miles per hour and forecasters say the storm's center could reach western Cuba as early as tonight.
Forecasters say the storm is expected to enter the Gulf of Mexico tomorrow. And a hurricane specialist says Arlene's path could range anywhere from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle.
The tropical storm has been causing heavy rains and squalls across the Cayman Islands and in western and central Cuba.
