A man sentenced to 39 years to life was also given an additional 30 days for an emotional outburst in court Thursday.
Bernard Reid was sentenced for the murder of Maurice Kennedy in Judge Steve Martin's courtroom. As Judge Martin read his sentence Reid, 24, interrupted with an emotional outburst. "I didn't do this s---, man. I promise I didn't do this s---. I swear, man. I don't want to stay in there forever, man."
Kennedy, 17 an Elder High School student was killed in September of 2004. He was trying to break up a fight between teenagers in Price Hill when he was shot in the head and killed.
