Thousands Without Power

A powerful storm rolled through the Tri-State leaving over 26,000 Cinergy customers without power at one time.

As skies turned gray Tuesday afternoon strong storms began to fire up. Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for just about every county in the Tri-State as the strong line moved through.

Damaging winds, up to 70 miles per hour, accompanied the heavy showers. Numerous reports came out of downed trees and power lines which caused several areas to lose power.

Reports of penny to nickel size hail and also lightning damage were all reported throughout the Tri-State. With the first line of storms through, forecasters say that better weather is expected. To find out the latest forecast, visit the First Weather Center.
