CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The Bengals have re-signed their Pro Bowl special teams star and free agent running back Cedric Peerman to a one-year deal.
"It's big for us to get Cedric back," said special teams coordinator Darrin Simmons. "He's demonstrated over time what an effective player he is. He's a leader of our unit, a core part of what we do."
Peerman, entering his eighth season in the NFL, missed the first ten games of last season due to a fractured forearm injury he suffered in the preseason.
He made the Pro Bowl in 2015 when he led the Bengals with a career-high 17 tackles on special teams. Peerman has played 90 of his 92 career NFL games with the Bengals.
