MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) -

UPDATE, April 17: Joseph's Legacy released an update about the missing dog Monday:

"Unfortunately we found him dead today in a field in Middletown. Someone hit him with a car," a representative for the group said.

A Butler County animal rescue is asking for help to find a missing foster dog.

Joseph's Legacy said Yukon escaped his foster home on Elk Creek Road.

Officials said the dog is extremely shy and will not come to a stranger, so you should not approach him.

"He lived his life in a basement without seeing daylight for months, we have been working on getting him to trust people," reads a post on social media.

Joseph's Legacy said the dog only trusts two volunteers.

If you see Yukon, you're asked to call (937) 572-2974 immediately.
