CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Jesse Winker drove in the go-ahead runs with his first Major League hit as the Reds beat the Brewers 7-5 at Great American Ball Park, Saturday.

Winker, who made his big league debut on Friday night, delivered a two-run double to left field in the 6th inning as the Reds broke a 4-4 tie and held off Milwaukee in the final innings.

“It was incredible, that’s the only way I can describe it,” said Winker of his first hit. “It was everything I thought it was going to be.”

Scott Schebler hit a home run and Zack Cozart banged out two more hits to lead the Reds offense.

The bullpen pitched eight innings and allowed only three runs after Brandon Finnegan left after the first inning with what the Reds announced as a strained left lat injury.

The Reds remain in first place in the NL Central with an 8-4 record and finish the series with Milwaukee on Sunday.
