GALLATIN COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

Authorities are searching for a man who escaped police custody Monday.

Joshua Ray Pickett, 27, was handcuffed when he kicked out the window of a patrol car, according to Gallatin County officials.

He was under arrest for several felony warrants as well as fleeing and evading.

The escape prompted a "soft lockdown" at Gallatin County Schools Monday afternoon.

Superintendent Travis Hubert said there was no threat to the school and the escapee was not believed to be dangerous, but officials wanted to exercise extra vigilance.

Anyone who sees Pickett is asked to call 911.
