Violent night: 3 dead, 2 hurt in three separate shootings

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

It was a violent night in the Tri-State with three people dead and another two wounded in three separate shootings.

Cincinnati police said they are investigating two double shootings late Tuesday.

Deshawn Jenkins, 19, died shortly he arrived at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, homicide detectives said in a prepared statement early Wednesday.

He was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 5300 block of East Knoll Court just before 10 p.m.

A second gunshot victim found at the scene is expected to recover, according to police.

About 15 minutes later, officers responded to a second double shooting on West Elder Street near Findlay Market in Over-the-Rhine.

Kendall Perkins, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene, homicide investigators said.

The other shooting victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests were made in either incident, which are not related.

The violence wasn't contained to Cincinnati.

Over in Northern Kentucky, a mother of six was gunned down in Campbell County's Mentor, police said.

The victim's husband is waking up Wednesday morning in the county jail, where he is held on a murder charge.
